Assay principle: competition
The serum TBG competes with the 125I-TBG tracer for a limited number of binding sites on highly specific anti-TBG antibodies. Free TBG is separated from the TBG-antibody complex by precipitating the latter with polyethylene glycol (PEG). The 125I-activity in the precipitate is measured.
Assay procedure: 30 min at RT + 20 min centrifugation.
